Gir National Park in Saurashtra is the only place in the wild where Asiatic lions live. A short drive away, the island of Diu has a 16th-century Portuguese fort, the Naida caves and quiet beaches, and Somnath, the first of the twelve Jyotirlingas, stands on the Arabian Sea shore.
