Overview
Two classic Sahyadri hill stations in one trip. In Matheran cars are not allowed: you explore red-earth forest trails, colonial bungalows and viewpoints on foot or horseback, with the narrow-gauge toy train for company. Lonavala and Khandala add dramatic valley views, the ancient Buddhist caves at Karla and, in the monsoon, waterfalls everywhere.

Matheran points and toy train
Spend the day on Matheran's forest trails — Panorama Point, Echo Point, Louisa Point and One Tree Hill — with a toy train ride between Aman Lodge and Matheran when it is running.

Karla caves and Lonavala

Khandala viewpoints and back to Mumbai
