Overview
A Maldives honeymoon at one resort island, split between a beach villa and a water villa so you get both: the sand at your door and the lagoon under your deck. Days are yours - snorkelling on the house reef, a sandbank picnic, spa time - with one snorkelling excursion and a sunset cruise included. The resort is chosen to match your budget and how you want to arrive: speedboat resorts are cheaper and quicker; seaplane resorts are further out and more secluded.

Important information
Indian citizens get a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival with a passport valid for 6 months, a confirmed resort booking and a return ticket. Every traveller must submit the online Traveller Declaration (IMUGA) within 96 hours before arrival and before departure. Seaplanes fly only in daylight - a flight landing in Male after about 15:30 may need a night near the airport. The price depends heavily on the resort, villa type, meal plan and season: Christmas-New Year and Easter are peak. The Maldives is a Muslim country: alcohol is served only at resorts, and modest dress is expected on local islands.

What is the best time to go?+
November to April is the dry season with calm, clear water. May to October is cheaper, with more rain and wind.
