Four and a half hours from Ahmedabad, Mount Abu is the easiest hill station for a family weekend. The plan keeps drives short: the first afternoon at Nakki Lake and Sunset Point, a full day for the Dilwara temples, Guru Shikhar and Achalgarh, and on the way home a stop at Ambaji, one of the 51 Shakti Peeths, just 45 km below the hill.

Day 1
Leave Ahmedabad in the morning (about 225 km, 4.5 hours via Palanpur and Abu Road). Check in, have lunch, then go boating on Nakki Lake and walk the lake promenade. Watch sunset from Sunset Point, then back to the hotel for dinner.

Day 2
After breakfast visit Arbuda Devi cave temple, then drive up to Guru Shikhar, the highest point of the Aravallis, with its Dattatreya temple and views over the range. In the afternoon see Achalgarh fort and the Achaleshwar Mahadev temple, then the Dilwara temples when they open for visitors at 12:00 - the Vimal Vasahi and Luna Vasahi carvings in white marble are the highlight of Abu. End at the Brahma Kumaris Peace Park.

Day 3
Check out after breakfast and drive down to Ambaji (about 45 km) for darshan at the Ambaji temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peeths. Optional ropeway up Gabbar hill. Continue to Ahmedabad (about 180 km, 4 hours).

Private AC car. Ahmedabad to Mount Abu is about 225 km / 4.5 hours via Palanpur and Abu Road; the last 28 km is a ghat road.
Dilwara temples are open to non-Jain visitors from 12:00 to 18:00; photography, mobile phones inside, leather items and short clothing are not allowed. Arbuda Devi has about 350 steps. Weekends, Diwali week and May-June are crowded and hotel rates are higher - weekdays are calmer. December-January nights drop close to 0°C; carry warm clothing.
