Day 1
Arrive at Kathmandu airport and transfer to the hotel. In the evening, darshan at Pashupatinath and the aarti on the Bagmati ghats.

Day 2
Swayambhunath on its hill above the city, Kathmandu Durbar Square with the Kumari Ghar, Budhanilkantha's sleeping Vishnu and the great stupa of Boudhanath at dusk.

Day 3
Drive along the Trishuli river to Kurintar and ride the cable car up to the Manakamana temple. Continue to Pokhara (6 to 7 hours in all) and stroll along Lakeside in the evening.

Day 4
Early drive to Sarangkot to watch sunrise over Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and the fish-tail peak of Machhapuchhre. After breakfast visit Bindhyabasini temple, Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Mahadev cave and the International Mountain Museum, then a boat across Phewa Lake to Tal Barahi temple.

Day 5

Breakfast and dinner daily; Indian vegetarian food is widely available in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
Transportation
Private vehicle. Kathmandu to Pokhara about 200 km (6 to 7 hours with the Manakamana stop); the return can be by road or a 25-minute flight.
Indian citizens do not need a visa for Nepal. Carry a valid Indian passport or Voter ID card - Aadhaar is not accepted as travel ID; children can travel on a passport or school ID with a birth certificate (check with us). Indian rupees are widely accepted; carry ₹100 notes and smaller, and check the current rules on ₹200 and ₹500 notes before you travel. Entry fees at Kathmandu's heritage sites are charged per person, with lower SAARC rates. Sarangkot sunrise means leaving around 04:30. The monsoon (June to September) hides the mountains and can block the Pokhara road.
